1: smart thing mr bennett says that lizzy has more "quickness" than her sisters. does she? where abouts in p&p does lizzy's quickness affect what happens in the story?
an old work colleague lent me some tom waits once. i didn't really like it because it wasn't really music. now i feel justified. i can't see how a chocolate jesus is funny. i can't even see how a chocolate jesus would be funny to someone who didn't like or believe in jesus. 'look, i bit off jesus's head, AHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!'. that seems to be the maximum level of amusment you could get out of it.
maybe if i'd watched the video instead of just reading the words. or maybe it's just cause it's chocolate, and chocolate is stoopid...
'Affect' is correct in this situation. 'Affect' is the verb, while 'effect' is the noun, unless you're talking psychology, where 'affect' is also a noun meaning emotial state/mood (e.g. negative affect).
Isn't it funny how if you write a word enough times it starts to look odd. I wonder what psychology would have to say about that.
Oh I just saw the link huggies made, which expains it all. It shows how effect can also be used as a verb, just to confuse things more (e.g. to effect a change in something). I might try to put that into my summary I am supposed to be writing at the moment... Word pair repetition effected a change in the recall of items as evidenced by increased recall percentages for strong pairs compared with (or compared to- because I have an American supervisor who likes stupid Amercanisms)weak word pairs.
you are right. all of you. i am sorry for any pain i may have inflicted. i am also sorry that no one has told me smart things. hi jc! your blog title makes me giggle.
at the risk of being very controversial, i haven't read p&p recently enough to answer that question. otherwise, i would surely have some very intelligent things to say.
i watched the video. i still don't like the song. but interesting to see how mr waits gets his voice so gravelly. whoever thought a megaphone would be a musical instrument.

Hey, thanks for the link. I was wondering why I started getting all these page hits from New Zealand today, and now I know.
Its all redundent because Natalie did changed it already. She should practice to make less mistakes. It effects how affective her posts is.
