me not

i have nothing intelligent to say this week.
i used it all up on serialism, constitiutions and stoopid sonata form.
and might someone be so kind as to explain to me what is the big deal about estates not being entailed or being entailed, and why can't they change who it is entailed to? it seems like a pretty silly rule to me. but then, not being allowed to get married after 12pm is perhaps equally silly. i should revel in the silliness. it is where i thrive.

so instead of sounding clever like i usually do, i will subject you all to....um....
songs! yes. my opinions of.

i like KT. she takes up most of my top 25 most played list. the others are:
kt-universe&U
kt-black horse+cherry tree
kt-under the weather
kt-stoppin the love
kt-miniature disasters
james blunt-fall at your feet (my apologies to anyone with taste).
kt-heal over
kt-other side of the world
kt-suddenly i see
kt-flase alarm
kt-silent sea
bic runga-drive
switchfoot-gone
david gray-l's song
jack johnson-better together
kt-another place to fall
phono-home
jars of clay+switchfoot-let that be enough
kt-through the dark
U2-elevation
jack johnson-banana pancakes
jack johnson-sitting, waiting, wishing
jars of clay-my heavenly
katie melua-i think it's going to rain today
switchfoot-adding to the noise

this list surprises me a bit. i definitely did not realise i listened to elevation so much. but it is a good early-morning song. you need good early morning songs to get you out of bed and down to the bus stop.

My Top 25: (although it's slightly misleading because I only listen to my i-river at the gym when I need energising music)

1. Scar - Missy Higgins
2. Wham - Wake me up before you gogo (great for motivating one's self on 6am runs!)
3. Jesse McCartney - Beautiful soul
4. Kenny Loggins - Footloose
5. Katrina & The Waves - Walking on Sunshine
6. Rob Thomas - Lonely No More
7. Matchbox 20 - Real World
8. Split Enz - I See Red
9. Greenday - Hitchin A Ride
10. Foofighters - DOA
11. Robert Palmer - Simply Irrestistible
12. The Rolling Stones - (I can't get) No Satisfaction
13. The Beatles - Can't buy me love
14. Aqua - Roses are Red
15. Pulp Fiction Soundtrack - You Never Can Tell
16. Abba - Waterloo
17. The Swingers - Counting the Beat
18. Kylie Minogue - Spinning Around
19. Josh Abrahams - Addicted to Bass
20. Bare Jr - You Blew Me Off
21. Living End - Roll On
22. Live - The Distance
23. Living End - Tainted Love
24. Live - Stage
25. Johnny Cash - Get Rhythm

My Top 25 that is more representative would be the list off my computer. Unsurprisingly, that is entirely comprised of the Counting Crows. The first song NOT written by them would come in at place 46, which is Where's The Ligh by Toni Childs.

I just realised that the first one on my list was formatted the wrong way round. ie it should have read: Missy Higgins - Scar. Not the other way. STUPID. STUPID!

Since when do people listen to such obscure music? Hmm. Either that, or I am just extremely uninformed about music.

I do know Reel Big Fish!!! Finally. Someone I recognise. They are the best. I love them when I'm running, except unfortunately they didn't make my top 25...Mysterious.

Who are switchfoot? Okay, don't answer that; I'm googling them as I type.

Speaking of which, did everyone hear the "goggle" finally made it into the dictionary as a VERB!!! These are exciting times that we live in :)

Switchfoot sound quite cool. Sort of like Ben Harper's lyrics meets Living End's voice, meets Chilli Peppers' angst, meets Rolling Stones' funk.

I think I like them. Interesting times.

Switchfoot! Ha-ha 1-2 1-2!

My 25 by iTunes play count (should be interesting...and possibly inaccurate. We'll see ;) )

1. Eight - Warm
2. KT Tunstall - Under the Weather
3. Switchfoot - Gone
4. KT Tunstall - Miniture Disasters
5. Phono - Your Love (...hmm, there's a surprise. Natalie, don't read into that!)
6. KT Tunstall - Black Horse and the Cherry Tree
7. KT Tunstall - Stopping the Love
8. Switchfoot - Twenty Four
9. Op Shop - Levitate
10. Fat Freddy's Drop - Roady
11. Op Shop - Oxygen
12. Switchfoot - On fire
13. Switchfoot - Adding to the Noise
14. Switchfoot - Suddenly I See
15. KT Tunstall - Silent Sea
16. Phono - Deepest Desire
17. Phono - Step Off
19. Phono - Fix Me
20. Switchfoot - The Beautiful Letdown
21. Juliagrace - Tin Cars
22. KT Tunstall - Another Place to Fall
23. KT Tunstall - Heal Over
24. Phono - Commit My Path
25. Tree63 - No Words

Hmmm, yes. Very interesting. Shows how I tend to pick an album and listen to it on continuous playback.

But I have lots more favourites that aren't on my computer. Strange that jars doesn't make it into the top 25. They are my favourite band...
